The American theatre is based on the Western tradition. There are many theatres in the United States which are professional theatre companies outside the city of New York that produce and direct their own seasons and episodes. The American theatre has been heavily impacted by the international influence. Due to many reasons the styles of theatres including the minstrel shows have disappeared, however, the theater is still considered as a popular and an important art form(Hughes, G. 1951).
