Introduction

One of the most significant responsibilities of a human resource manager is staffing. The turnover must be carefully monitored, and a capable staff must be employed in order for business operations to run efficiently and smoothly. In order to do it, an appropriate staffing plan must be determined by the companies in advance (Merrill, 1970). To ensure that an organization has the right skills with the right number of people to fulfill business needs, such systematic process is known as staff planning. The business plan of the company must be integrated within the HR planning, and the external and internal changes must be taken into account.

This essay will shed light on the major areas of staffing like, recruiting and identification of talent, demand and supply forecasting, strategic job analysis, HR strategies and business strategies. The organization which I have taken into account to address these factors is Apple Inc. Company. Headquartered in Cupertino, California, Apple Inc. is an American multinational corporation that sells, develops and designs personal computers, computer software and consumer electronics (Linzmayer, 2004). The iPad tablet computer, the iPhone smartphone, the iPod music player, the Mac line of computers are its best-known hardware products.

After Samsung Electronics in terms of revenue the 2nd largest information technology company in the world is Apple. After Nokia and Samsung, the 3rd largest mobile phone maker of the world is Apple. The online ITunes store and Apple Store as well as four hundred and six retail stores are maintained by Apple in 14 countries. In the year of 1976, Steve Job co-founded the company.

Business Strategies

To achieve a set of objectives or goals or a particular goal, a long term plan of action is designed which is known as a business strategy. A period of about three to five years is covered with a business strategy. Major resource issues and allocation of resources are concerned within a business strategy. The scope of the activities of a business is also concerned with the strategies (Campbell & Et.al, 2011). For strengthening the performance of the enterprises the game plan of the management is the strategy. The carrying out of business in accordance to its desired goals is stated by the strategy.

The core management function is creating a business strategy. A focus on a niche strategy, a differentiated service or product strategy and a cost strategy is the three basic business strategies. A good strategic plan can be conducted with the understanding of these strategies. The cost strategy is mostly adopted by successful retailers.
