Introduction

The sport psychology is the discipline that studies the psychological, social, and educational and psycho- physiology of sport.

This article involves qualitative type of research. The study is important to know the significance of sports in everyone's life. Many people take sports as a leisure activity and do not adopt it as a profession. However, this article has discussed the importance of sports which is not less than any other profession in the world. The specific theory which is used to support the article is the use of sport psychology. There was no specific hypothesis stated in the article.

Discussion

By definition and necessity, sport psychology draws inspiration and content from multiple disciplines ranging from medicine to physical education, but found over the years of its clear and defined path of research and intervention. The practice and the culture of sports are taking a significant importance in the lifestyle of large segments of the population because of the centrality of physical and psychological factors that sport is in the individual life.

Initially, the sport psychology tried to establish meaningful relationships between personality and sport, especially using diagnostic tools from clinical psychology, but then has specialized in the mental preparation and skills that can be enhanced in sports, namely attention, concentration, motivation, management of stress and of the anxiety and more.

The article mentions the role of psychologist in an effective manner. It is said that the sports psychologist is a doctor of psychology (most often to address clinical or work) that provides its expertise in federations, organizations, gyms, and associations and is dedicated to training through individual interventions and group executive staff, the referees, the coaches, trainers, the athletes in individual sports or team. The sports psychologists work with athletes on the mental mechanisms the intention to develop the full potential to optimize performance sports. The goal, then, is to be able to bring the athlete to overcome their limits, making them a resource (Tony 2008, 331).

The psychologist is not a technician, so it provides services or advice concerning technical strategies and tactics, but has a well-defined role: that of an expert on psychological issues and psycho-pedagogical against all members of the sports club. The sports psychologist is concerned in particular: to train and enhance the mental abilities of athletes, including, in particular, we include the ability to relax, to display, to set goals, to maintain their motivation to manage anxiety benefit.

The sport psychology is making a huge contribution to the understanding of the role of sport in the development of children, showing how it should be a fun experience, growth and body awareness, of being comfortable with yourself and others (teammates and coach).
