There have been many theories that have focused on identifying the reason why the youth participates or does not participate in the sport activities. The process of motivation can be best understood by synthesizing the data and theories together. In this research paper, the focus has been on the methods that can be used to motivate youth to participate in sports. This motivation can be done by many ways. The most effective way to encourage the youth to participate in sports is to eliminate competition and encourage them to get involve in sport activity without the any type of competition.

Sport Motivation
Introduction
In general psychology, motivation has been considered as a central topic and recently it has gained the same position in exercise psychology and sports. The same level of interest has been shown in youth's physical activity both from the view of performance and sport involvement. There have been many surveys that have tried to identify the reasons behind youth and children's non-participation or participation in both exercise and sports. There are many reasons why youth and children will cease or involve in the participation. Surveys have been conducted to get valid responses from the youth which showed notions of motivation. There have been many researchers that have adopted the theoretical stance to get a better understanding. The process of motivation in exercise and sports can be better understood be synthesizing the theories and data together. Without focusing on the theoretical frameworks, the results and the prediction will be without the proper scientific understanding.
There are many theoretical perspectives on exercise and sports motivation. In studying the youth in the physical contexts, dominance is held by the social-cognitive perspective. Most of the sports psychologists have adopted the adopted the tenets of achievement goal theory. In order to ensure that the research is conceptually related, many researchers have provided a view of motivation through self determination theory. Many researchers have focused on congregating these types of theories. The weakness in the contemporary research on motivation in exercise and sports is that there are very few studies that can test the causal influence. It is due to the weakness in the nature of design of research (Spray et al, 2006, p. 43). Therefore, this paper has focused on providing these two theories along with the types of motivations for sports.

Achievement Goal Theory
Goals that the youth may hold regarding their achievement setting in sports and exercise are very important factors of motivation. According to educational psychology, the people have the tendency to construe ability and define success in various ways. In many situations, individuals place emphasis on task mastery, effort and self-improvement which shows their task goal.
