Introduction

The leading Singapore daily newspaper Straits Times published an article on May 30, 2011 which was about the workers of Singapore. According to that article it was shown that they are the unhappiest workers in the world who are highly dissatisfied with their work and positions. In that article a research work was shown by Lumesse on this issue. In today's era the scarcity of talent is considered as something natural but it is not like that but people need to be trained properly and then to be motivated and encouraged by their employers to work efficiently and effectively. Assistant director of a corporate service Mr. Josh Goh, claimed that to harness best employees to their employment it is necessary to focus on creating a strong employer brand. He also suggested that we could not always seek long-term employment from every employee.

Research Methodolgy

If anyone hates his or her job, considering job a burden on him or her and thinking to quit the job then it is not a problem only with him but many of the Singaporean workforce is like this. According to a recent survey, it has been shown that Singapore lies in the last among the countries whose employees are affected by workplace unhappiness. People were asked about the unhappiness or dissatisfaction of them towards their work in a poll. And the results were like this that we are least loyal to our workplace, least enjoy going to work, and we have the least collaborative workplace. For this purpose a research was conducted to know the reason of dissatisfaction of employees towards their work.

Participants

The parcipants involved in the research was about 4000 employees which were associated with works in 14 different countries. The 14 different backgrounds of countries were choosing carefully to seek out the outcomes in a more diverse manner.

Research Design

The research was based on the method of conducting interviews and filling questionnaires with the sample of approximately 4000 employees who were working in 14 different countries of the world. They were asked almost same types of work related questions which were both open-ended and close-ended.

Measures

The measures of the research were based on the validity of the questions which were asked in the interviews. A main analysis was extracted from the answers given by the workers of different countries.

Procedure

The procedure of the research was recruiting one person at a time and asking him about his job experience and the perception which he or she had about their work.

Results

After conducting that research, Lumesse found out the results which were placing the workers of Singapore least in percentage who were satisfied with their jobs and enjoy going to work. There was also outcome found that the employee's levels of loyalty with their companies is less enough and the workplaces which are in the island state has the least collaborative or convenient.
