Problem statement

The topic chosen for the paper is “the impact of religious differences over the society”. The earth is a heterogeneous entity now, with several religions and cultures, however, the global village inhabits all these faiths and ways of living in its very heart. Differences in the religion are far more effective than any other type of differences prevalent in the human society. They restrict the human being from getting along with each other in the spam of their everyday life (Davis, n.d). The problem pertains to the fact that religious differences are not welcomed by the society, rather they hinder the amalgamation of the society after a given extent.

Literature review

Rees, T. J. in his article “Is Personal Insecurity a Cause of Cross-National differences in the Intensity of Religious Belief?” states that the difference in religion has a psychological significance, as well as, an identity that corresponds to a deeply entrenched belonging in the mankind. Religions create differences on certain basis that are not negotiable or alterable. It does not merely correspond to the fact that the existence of religion provides a living of virtue and meaningfulness to the individual, but also it creates obstacles in the road to uniformity and amalgamation of the society.

Collins T. in his speech in Toronto emphasizes upon the necessity of religion and asserts that religion is a fundamental and productive guide to the mankind in general, as well as, in particular. However, he admits that acceptance and openness is a more essential and productive form of virtue than the religion itself. He asserts that the differences in religious norms and ways do not merely affect the living, but also the perceptions that are relevant in the short terms, as well as, the long term way for living in the world.

Davis, C. in his book writes that the religion has contributed to the making of the society, as well as, the finding out few fundamental rules. However, the development of religion has contributed to the spaces between human races that are not eradicated through any other means, religion is the source of segmentation of the society and there is no unification upon something as weaker, as the believe in God. There is no harmony merely created by the development of one well focused and well-directed approach, but it does create differences that have no remedy to let things fall into places ...
