“Innocent voices” is based on a personal story which has a political context. The film highlights the era of 1980's and the time when civil war left El Salvador in a devastating situation. It showed the struggle against the communist guerillas. The war lasted for nearly 12 years or more and finally ended in the year of 1992 upon signing United Nation sponsored peace treaty.
