Social Problem:

Social problem can be defined as a situation that and individual in the society believes it to be undesirable. Culture is formed by the beliefs and moral values of individuals living in the society these cultures may vary across different societies thus the beliefs and values of people belonging to different cultures will also be different. However certain social problems for every culture may be common such as murders accidental deaths or drugs addicts. Yet there are some problems that may not be common to every culture for instance youth may not find playing loud music in the parks a problem moreover from some it will be (Kelleher, 2004).

Cultural Relativity

As mentioned earlier the values of different cultures may be distinguished from one another. Cultural relativity can therefore be defined as what is right or wrong is relative to the culture, it is believed that no universal standard has been set to measure cultures. All these cultures are considered to be equally important and that these cultures are an expression of human existence. For instance in West it is believed that terrorist nations are an axis of evil however Islamic belief is that these terrorist intend to have a movement for Jihad that is to fight against the non- believers.

Culture is Learned

People often do not know what are their values and beliefs based on their culture; culture is adopted by learning from your surroundings and your parents or guardians. It is transmitted from one generation to another. It informs people about day to day living patterns an important feature of culture is language that enables to transmit the culture.
