Introduction

Social work is a practical approach. It is all about safeguarding people and modifying their lives by approaching practical concepts. Using the theoretical concepts and implement it by focusing the main perspectives. Social work is a concept to change in the societal hierarchy depending on the situation that is proactively based on an individual level or community based. This change is based on simple, diversified and complex that critically define the situation. Social work is an academic and professional discipline that searches to enhance the wellbeing of an individual or group, quality of life and community by intervening through policy, direct practice research. It provides aid to those people who struck with social injustices, poverty, and violations of their human rights. Most of the research usually centers on areas like international and community development, program evaluation, psychotherapy, public administration, social policy and human development. In the simple words, social work is the organized employment towards the betterment of social conditions in the community and trying to raise the conditions of poor or to provide welfare to their children etc (Dominelli, 2002, n.p).

Range of Theories and Methods of Intervention

A theory is a set of collective concepts and ideas that help to examine why something has occurred in a specific way and to forecast possible outcomes for the future. These theories are totally based on reasoning, evidences. It is a set of collective principles that extensively used to direct practices which are adequately logical that they could if mandatory be generating open in a shape which has opened as a challenge. In social work, there are several theories that help the social workers to implement and focus according to the circumstances and positions. This wide range of theories helps the social workers to use different theories according to the patient psychological and sociological level(Rooney, et.al, 2011). There are various theories which are as follows:

Theories of developing personality

Theories of specific and group attitudes or behavior

Theories of social work

These theories are extensively used for developing or improving the psychological or sociological level of a person that help them to maintain a good position in a society.

Methods of Intervention

Since its appearance at the beginning of the century, professional intervention of Social Work has been developing and applying a set of models to address social problems at both the individual-family or in) their collective dimension. Although the theories have changed the reference or have been devising alternative strategies intervention, remains ways of seeing and acting, forged the identity of the field of social intervention (Ballou,1995). A psycho-dynamic model is the maximum expression in psychoanalysis which highlights the importance of unconscious intrapsychic conflict in nature (Gray & Webb, 2012).

The basic, curative approach of classical psychoanalysis is based on three fundamental processes:
