In the past decade, social work has become a renowned profession and researchers have come up with several evidences and researches on this topic. It also witnessed a striking change of scale, the extreme dramatic events, full of unpredictable results, and the deep contradictions of social work. The evidences and researches were initially not for the social work profession, but it has becoming important in this profession as well. The evidence and research in social work is the modern and recent development. It is not important from where it initiated but research and evidence are the significant part of the social work. What social worsk contributed to the society is social work's evidence base. The significant part of evidence and research is that it identifies the path and way of social theory and then implements it. The comprehensive and timely development of social work as a profession bring researches and evidence based practices that help to enhance the evidence.

There are several different ways of research and evidences in the social work theory that bring challenge for evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of the research and evidence. The branch of social work has adopted evidences and researches for social work theory. Similarly it has also adopted practices from other professional areas of sociology, psychology, psychiatry and medicines are one of them. To critically assess the quality of evidence and research in social work theory and practice, the areas of social work are selected.
