Social Welfare in Great Britain from 2000 to 2010, What Changed?
Introduction
Social welfare is viewed as providing help and care for one individual at a time. Conventionally, social work or social service has been related to charity. However, in today's times it refers to the conviction that all human beings have rights. Social awareness has increased today, and youth are more enlightened about the terrorism that has overwhelmed the world. Today, the social work has come forward as a lucrative career option that has been chosen by many individuals. Today, the social worker is anticipated to lobby with the government as well as corporations. These help in funding, counseling and organizing camps. Moreover, social work is divided into three heads which are mentioned below.
1.Service
2.Advocacy
3.Corporate social responsibility
The social work service includes personal initiatives such as mobilizing resources and occupations for the poor for the physically challenged or those who are in need. Other services covered under the scope of social services include providing scholarships, supporting orphanages or old-age homes. However, the government organizations and the NGOs support the campaigns and projects that are related to child support, women's rights and labor laws (Catherine & Nicholas, 2003, pp. 36).

It covers a wide range of programs, social services, health management, social security, housing, education or leisure. The origins of the UK social policy development date back to the last decades of the nineteenth century.

Social policy should be given effect through legal functions that assign appropriate powers and duties to agencies. In terms of charity law, the relationship between the legal system and social policy is on the face of it a good deal less complicated than in other field of law (Michael, 2003, pp. 36).
EU Directive
However, the interaction between European Union and UK Welfare state structures is present to a greater and frequent extent. But, still there are areas and fields of policy in which this interaction varies. For instance, in some aspects of labor or gender policy the extent of interaction is great and frequent. In this field, parliament, departments, parties and social actors play an active role. On the other hand, in areas where the interaction between EU and UK Welfare is indirect such as in the area of healthcare then in this field departments and these different actors do not take an active part in the policy making (Michael, 2006, ...
