Society these days has turn out to be a lot more modern in several different aspects. With the passage of time the society has struggled hard to make our lives more convenient. With the innovation of new technology, the society has embraced such things to the extent of not being able to exist without these tools. Overstated as it might sound, however it is a reality that a number of individuals cannot live without these tools. But throughout time the new technology has had both negative positive effects over the society (Lane, 2012). One of the gifts of the new technology is social networking websites. Social networking on the internet is a sort of virtual communication, which allows individuals to join with anyone. Nowadays, Facebook is considered as the most widely used social networking site all over the world. Similar to the tribal customs, in Facebook individuals developed their identity by representing their relations to all other (Das et.al, 2011).

With lots more advantages of being socially connected to people there are several disadvantages regarding the privacy and security of a person.

While, looking in to the background, Facebook was created with the initiative to allow students of Harvard University to exchange information to anyone with an email address. In our society, Facebook has allowed great achievements such as finding people (Madhur et.al, 2012).
