Introduction

The profession of the social work defines its primary mission related to the conduct and behavior of the social workers in which it helps to meet the basic needs of human and enhance the human well being by giving particular attention to the empowerment and other needs of people. These poor people cannot afford the expenses regarding educational issues. The history defined the profession of social work in a way to focusing the individual's needs and improving the quality of life as well as to the overall society in the social context. There are fundamentals related to the social work that considers the environmental forces and contribute, create and address issues in living (BASW 2002).

The purpose of the social workers is to promote the justice and change related with the social on behalf of the “clients”. Here, the clients are referred to families, individuals, organizations, groups and communities. Social workers are also engaged in thriving of ending the oppression, discrimination and other types of injustice related to society (BASW 2002). They are more sensitive towards the ethnic diversity and the cultural. The activities which perform by the social workers are in the form of organizing, consultation, direct practices, administration, community, advocacy, political and social action, evaluation and research, education, development of policy and its implementation. Social workers are committed towards the improvement of the people' lives by addressing their needs and issues. Social workers are also interested for the promotion of communities, organizations and other social institutions regarding the social problems and needs of individuals.

The social work profession's mission is consisted a set of crucial values. Throughout the profession history, social workers carry these crucial values. There are the following core values of the social work profession;

Social Justice

Service

Integrity

Importance of Human Relationships

Competence

Dignity and worth of the Person

The above set of essential values reflects the uniqueness regarding the profession of social work. The principles and core values must be balanced along with the human's expertise (BASW 2002).

The NASW Code of Ethics

The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Code of Ethics is a collective set of standards that are used for the professional conduct regarding the social workers. These standards are useful and essential for the agencies who are involved in providing the service trainings and for the social work with schools. The NASW Code of Ethics is available in English and Spanish languages. For the social work, professional ethics are considered very important to be implemented. As any professional has certain obligations that shapes the basic values, establishing the standards of ethics and the ethical principles as well. Thus, NASW Code of Ethics explains these principles, values and standards for the purpose of guiding to the conduct of the social workers.

Personally, I am involved in the non-profit organization “Institute of Children Literacy” that has started from my family members for couple of months ago. Thus, I am taking a part in this social work profession.
