Definition of Social Psychology

The field of social psychology relates to intergroup relations. The most important aspects that led to the formation of this new and diverse field of social psychology are discrimination, prejudice and racism. There are two perspectives in the field of social psychology (Hall, 2010). First relates to the attitude and behavior of people towards people of color and the second one relates to the perception of these people of color towards the behavior and attitude of those around them.
