Social policy is the study of social guidelines and legislation for human welfare. Also, it entails the systems that promote conduct of human welfare. It relates to various common things which affect everyday day life on individuals. Manifestation of effective social policy frame work includes guidelines to increase social welfare and ensure development of society with greater equality. Hence, social policy typically refers to human welfare and role of legal bodies in the welfare of society.

Social Welfare Policy

Social welfare policy focuses on the welfare of people. Welfare is about how well people do rather than how well are people. Social policy for welfare of society and its people relates to social security, education and health services. Developed countries spend massive amount of money in the formation of such policies that have a substantial impact on national income. United States as a welfare state offer several compensating programs such as civil service retirement and veterans' benefits program, social security, workers' compensation, nutrition program and national health insurance program. These programs improve household spending in real terms which benefits for macro growth and development. Approximately 85 percent of US population is availing social security benefits to increase their standards of living.

Unites States is a part of the liberal welfare regimes. It follows laissez- faire economic system and promotes individualism. However, US are deprived of the unified welfare system. Traces of federalism can be seen upon this liberal society. This means that important functions such as public assistance, social care and various health schemes are monitored and controlled by the state. Social security system is the main development from the federal system that ensures benefits to people.
