Introduction

The health system in the United States are characterized by its contradictions and complexity. On the one hand, the U.S. has a lot of high technology, including many of the top medical schools, clinics, hospitals and research centers worldwide. However, many U.S. health resources are never available to much of the population. The great American conflict is having one of the large, expensive and complicated health systems of the world, while that more than 42 million Americans have no access to minimum health resources (Robert, 2006).
