Introduction

Social media is one of the most popular topics in recent times. However, an example that displays the massive scale of social media that adding of links to sites such as Digg.com is done by nearly one-third of Americans. Facebook, Twitter, are companies worth billions of dollars. However, social media is a new advancement in communication through the internet. It is getting popularity among the people especially in the young generation. It is a good mode of interaction with the outside world. Like every other thing, it also has some benefits, and short comings, which make it useful or harmful. The discussion on social networking is as follows, I will discuss in this paper about some of the points which will tell that how social networking is useful. Large potential of social media gets used to promote ideas, interesting events or funny curiosities. On the other hand, more often it is used also for positioning web sites and to acquire Internet traffic (Merskin, 1998, 333-345).

Today we operate in a society where most developing societies are through the exchange of information; we live the era of communications. Since its inception, where his role was purely to inform and communicate, the social media have changed dramatically in many cases reaching their goals to get distorted and become manipulative elements of society. The social media play an important role in social enrichment and are fully linked to them from listening to the news on the radio, to make purchases via the Internet. So much so that we are at a point where these dominate us, guide the course of our lives and dictate our behaviors. It is at this point that human beings should draw the line and set a limit, but our eyes go blind and let ourselves be taking what the social media dictate to us is where are the stereotypes, role models schemes that become ingrained in our minds to the point that we adopt as part of the "natural" human (Merskin, 1998, 333-345).
