Overview

This paper is focused on the study of the field of Information Communication Technology (ICT), particularly in the area of management. The paper discusses the different aspects regarding the use of social media for the purpose of sharing information in each and every aspect of life. This also includes the sharing of business related information, which in simple words can be said to be the social media advertising. Moreover, the main focus of the paper in relation to the Information Communication Network is based on the 2011 Arab Spring uprisings in the Middle East, in which it was noted that it was through these social media networks that the people were able to arrange protests against the governments of their respective countries. Therefore, the paper studies the role these social media networks were able to play in these protests against the governments.

Overall conclusions

The information and communication technologies (ICTs) are the union of computers and communications, which unleashed an unprecedented explosion of ways to communicate in the early '90s. From there, the Internet went from being a specialized instrument of community science to be a network friendly guideline that modified social interaction. Information Technology or Information Technology and Communication (ICT) means a term used to describe what is dilated on a computer connected to the Internet, and especially the social aspect of these. Since new technologies of information and communication designate both a set of technological innovations, but also the tools for a radical redefinition of the functioning of society; a good example of the influence of ICT on society is the electronic government. In summary, the information and communication technology include those software's and computational tools that execute, store, retrieve, summarize and present information portrayed majorly in diverse shape. It is based on a series of channels, tools and media in order to provide treatment and for the purpose of accessing information (Morozov, 2011).

In regard to this study, which focuses on the 2011 Arab Spring uprisings in the Middle East, it can be said that the ICT, which includes the social media networks, like facebook, twitter, etc., played an essential role in the protests that came up in the Arab countries. This is said because of the fact that it was through these social media networks that the people of these Arab countries were able to gather each other for the protest against the governments of these countries. This is because of the fact that without the availability of such a medium of communication, it would have been near impossible for the initiators of these protests to inform others about the protest and to gather them on one platform for this purpose.
