Problem Statement

A social issue is known as the social problems, which are actually due to the perception of people on others personal lives, and even some time depends on the person's individual behavior. People and society differ in many perceptions, and is actually dependant on the mind set of an individual as well as the society. One of the most basic issues in the social perspective in our society which is termed in the social issues in marriages are the homosexual marriages. Marriage, in its pure form, is a social institution that benefits the couple as well as the economy of the nation in terms of the work force and human resource.

Marriages do not only enrich the living of the couple but it is also the mode of enriching society. It is a fact that same sex marriages are surrounded by much controversy involving legal and societal arguments, in which some oppose it while some support it. Legal or Official arguments are the subject of fundamental civil and equal rights, that is why they support same sex marriages which obtains more attention. In contrast, same sex marriages also face opposition by social arguments for the reason that they care for the welfare of the society by maintaining the ethics and morals. The paper is designed to show equal rights for same sex marriages under the examination of health, public and other opinions of the society.

Literature Review/Discussion

The topic under discussion has been a key issue in many parts of the world and has received considerable attention because of the controversy that surrounds it. There have been divided opinion on the issue among people and this is what brings the question of what actually determines the views of the people. It also makes me, like many others, ponder on who is most likely to support or oppose the same-sex union. Researchers have also explored these areas and found out that education, race, gender, age and religion are some of the most notable predictors that define the support or opposition on the issue.

There can be found much discussion, articles, news stories, studies and researches that highlight and present how this can be regarded as a powerful factor in public opinion and resistance to same-sex marriage. Owing to all the evidence in this connection, none can deny the importance associated with religion in relation to the topic and the persistent and pervasive influence it has on the attitudes of the people with regard to homosexuals.
