Introduction

The below discussion reflects the major social issues of the society that are racial inequality in educational institutions and the impact of Title IX on gender inequality in sports. The discussion consists of two parts. First part of the discussion reflects the educational disparity among white and black Americans and the ways by which it can be overcome. Second parts highlight the effect of Title IX on removal of gender inequality in educational institutions.

An equitable society reflects no discrimination in terms of gender, income, education and culture among people. The maintenance of inequality in a society is a big task and education plays vital role in it. Education makes the people to behave equally with others. But if there is disparity or inequality presence in educational facilities then it will be very difficult to create equality in the society.

The study conducted by (Collins Jessica, nd) indicates that the history of educational system of America reflects a varying history means “the more things change the more they stay the same”. Racial inequality exists in the country in various forms for instance the unequal presence of minority students in high level grades leads to increase gap among different “colors” of students. According to the study made by (Wells et al, 2007) the inequality in education greatly depends upon academic points which are not related to the needs of all the children of the country. Many studies have been done in order to highlight the racial inequality in many educational schools especially with the Black Americans.
