Social Event

The world has been suffering from economic crisis for some years that has affected millions of people all around the world. Some has lost their jobs, some are starving due to the lack of food supply, and some are being homeless. Despite all these facts, the world is still moving ahead.

There are people and non-profit organizations who work for the betterment and prosperity of the society. Such individuals and NGOs plan and execute certain activities and events that are directed towards the benefit of the society. Among such events, I witnessed an event based on food sharing concept with the name “Free Food for All”.

This event was organized alongside the Cheat Lake, by a woman in the neighborhood who initiated this step as a noble cause. In this event, all the mothers in the society prepared a particular food and then they all gather beside Cheat Lake and share the food with the whole society. This not only let them share their food but also provided an opportunity to encourage interactions and foster relations of the neighboring residents.

When I visited the event, I found smiles all around. There were no tensions or stress on any face and they were all delighted. Children were playing, old men were sitting beside the lake discussing matters, while women were dispersed in groups, each telling others her own part of story and happenings.

I saw that these people came from different financial and family backgrounds but there they were all looking same. No discrimination could be observed there, be it on the basis of caste, financial or race. They were all enjoying as a single unit.
