1.1 Explain how principles of support are applied to ensure that individuals are cared for in health and social care practice
There are five principles of health and practices of social care and they include promoting antidiscrimination practice, confidentiality, rights, communications and acknowledging the identities and believe of individuals. These principles of support are used for those people who are living in the care homes and they demand the service users that they should be treated with respect and dignity. The services providers should not discriminate among the users of the service and should also communicate with them properly. All the rights should be provided to the service users. The users should be cared in such a way that they cannot be able to experience fear, isolation and pain. They key principles of the support are applied at many places. The users should be treated with dignity and respect and their self esteem should be maintained. Their independence is also supported and there are different choices for them in control and decision making (Alcock et al, 2008).
Outline the procedure for protecting clients, patients and colleagues from harm
The health care providers are accountable for all of their procedures and they must also be able to explain and justify their decisions. There are different types of practices in which the health care providers work and they are responsible to promote and protect the requirements of the patients. The health care providers should be frank with the patients and they should also provide individuality, respect, privacy and dignity to the patient. The healthcare providers should listen to the clients and patients and they should also keep the information confidential
(Courtenay ,2012). The healthcare providers should give the information about the condition and treatment of the patients in a way that they are able to understand it. They should take proper permission before providing the treatment and before investigating the condition. The providers should also make sure that the users are able to access their health records (Jones & Atwal, 2009). They should also take actions with integrity and should treat according to their professional status. The healthcare providers should not considers those types of referrals and which can produce effects on their judgment. The products should be used according to the requirement but not for the commercial benefits. They should also identify and work according to their knowledge, experience and skills. They should also enhance their performance, knowledge and skills. The records should be made without any delay and they should also include all the information in an apparent form. The service providers should protect the patients from harm and they should collaborate with other staff members.
