Empowering Users in Health and Social Care

Task 1

Provision of effective health and social care has always been the top priority of any health and social care organization or service provider in the wake of diverse issues that consistently face service users. However, despite the efforts and continuous development, complaints from users and their family members regarding the questionable quality of care, staffing issues, training and violation of rights of users remain commonplace in the domain. Yet in our organization, such critical areas are always looked into more diligently on the back of the findings that they comprise the source within which the complaints of users and their family members are embedded.

Current legislations and sector standards skills are strictly upheld in our Humane Health and Social Care Organization which is located in East London, through not only incorporating them in our organizational culture but also by involving the care providers in extensive training and development programs as well. This is directly associated with the promotion of the rights of the service users and their family members. Abiding by the Health and Social Care Act which was enacted in 2012, we have hired few Clinicians and General Physicians particularly for the purpose of communicating effective understanding and administration skills to our staff pertaining to the delivery of NHS services. This change was primarily integrated in our organization with the abolition of primary care trusts and strategic health authorities following the enactment of Health and Social Care Act 2012. This not only ensures the rising standards and quality of care being delivered by the professionals of our organizations but also develops their competency to uphold and promote the rights and dignity of service users.

The developments on Care and Support Bill are also being vigilantly followed by us to ensure the operations of our organization are in more than adequate compliance with the legislations and standards that are followed in an ideal scenario. Adult care is one of the most sensitive domains and Care and Support Bill primarily seeks to propose legislations and standards that could transform the current system into a more equitable and fairer one (Care Quality Commission, 2012).

Continuous enhancement of quality of care is one of the prime domains that are significantly focused upon by our organization and the professionals working for us. Continuous improvement of quality of health and social care aligns the duty of practitioners with immense consideration of issues related to regulation and ethics among others, as in doing so critical analysis would be undertaken which in turn would highlight the areas that are required to be improved, or could be improved thereby elevating the standards and quality of the care provided by any healthcare organization by significant magnitude.

Ethics of responsiveness is what is considered as being violated by numerous professional practitioners and this is around which the complaints filed by patients and their family members usually revolves (Van Doorslaer, Masseria and Koolman, 2006, ...
