Hello Jason,

Your discussion post for this week is informative and I immensely respect your strong opinions regarding the justice system. I believe that the matter of homosexuality is basically a controversial matter on the cultural, religious, ethnic, and subjective spheres. However, the justice system must be fair for all, including the gay citizens, because they are also the members of society and humans, who have equal rights to other members of the society (Dreisbach, 2013). I do agree with your point that the religious beliefs are subjective in the diversified society like America, which implies that the laws must be equal for every individual, regardless of their personal attributes, likes, and beliefs.

Hello Matt,

Your discussion post is commendable and the best part is that it is concise. I also agree with your point that the justice must be provided to all individuals and couples of the society, which definitely include gay couples. The main reason is that our democratic society treats every individual in equal manner, for which the gay couples must also have equal justice systems as the other normal couples do have. The justice system must transcend the personal, religious, or cultural beliefs and values (Dreisbach, 2013). In addition, I appreciate your reasoning regarding the benefits for the companies via gay marriages. Good discussion post!

I think it does not promote fair competition among individuals in the society, because the criteria for taxation are distinct for every socioeconomic class. It can be understood and fairly competitive, in terms of providing opportunity of lesser to give lesser tax. However, does it promote fair competition in the light of Darwin's theory?

Hello Krystal,

Your discussion post is commendable, in which you have briefly discussed the essential features of Frank's theory. The concept of progressive consumption tax is sufficient to maintain economic justice for the lower economic classes in the society. It is mainly because of the distinct criteria of taxation for every distinct economic class. However, I think it must not pose any social distinction in a democratic society, because the rights and laws are equal for every individual of the society. In addition, I also think that this does not propose a fair market competition in terms of restricting one's spending powers, which he or she has earned on their own. How can this problem of unfair competition for self-made elites can be justified by the theory proposed by ...
