Smoking

Thesis Statement

Stress resists the ability to quit smoking and causes damages to lungs whether it is a first hand smoke or any second hand smoke.

Introduction

Smoking to reduce stress and tension only adds to stress. The stress level of a regular smoker is briefly restored to normal, only for a certain amount of time. A Novice smoker begins to feel increasing stress. Heavy and regular smokers have comparatively high levels of stress than a non regular smoker. As a person moves from experimental to regular smoking, there is a considerable increase in their stress.

Common ground

Several lines of epidemiological data, animals, humans, and treatment studies find strong support that stress is the main mechanism involved in the maintenance of smoking relapse. Smokers (35-100%) cited stress and negative impact among the associated states as causal factors were the accounts of episodes of relapse. Using handheld computers to collect multiple daily assessments, the researchers prospectively inspected the function of stress in the first place in an attempt to quit smoking (ie the period of smoking.) They found that the rapid growth of the negative impact (in relation to a specific stressor, as an argument) were predictors in the episodes of smoking period and they were usually associated with the convergence of factors (negative effect, ie the availability of cigarettes). In addition, episodes of delay were caused by stress and moved quickly to full-blown relapse. (Cnossen, 2005)
