Introduction

The number of single mothers in the society has been increasing in the society an so is the on impact on the general well-being. Their health has become a trend of nowadays debate because it directly affects the life of children. In the same context, the mothers themselves have to face several implications out of which deteriorating health is the major issue. Single mothers usually keep trying hard but in return their social status does not appear to be promising in comparison to others who are also trying to maintain their social status. The significance of family status in determining social health via income and low status has been identified long time back, especially in the United States. Usually, the status of single mother is assumed to be powerful, interpreter of adverse mental health which is mentions in many surveys (Hudson et al., 2009). Epidemiological surveys indicate that extreme level of anxiety and depression, low rate of self-satisfaction in comparison to those who are living with spouses and family.

Social Status of Low Income Single Mothers

The psychological interests of single mothers in relation to married parents tend to declines with the passage of time. They become detached to the societal interactions and get distant to the all parties and social meetings. They take more interest in earning money and meet their both ends rather than spending time doing chit chats. Their already complicated life gets worse when they start comparing themselves to others who have normal life. In western countries, mostly the couple works to earn money to maintain their life styles and meet the needs of their children. Married parents are both financial and moral support to each other. Although the Western societies give several rights to the single mothers who need to raise their children, it does not appear to be much on the account.

There is another implication that advocates the impact of incidences and chronics due to the changes in psychological status and prevalence of turbulent life events. The role of the psychiatrists and psychologists become immense in this regard, however not every mother visits the psychiatrist to resolve their complications. Mostly mothers avoid visiting doctors because they have children to look after and pa attention. They have the prime aims and objectives to give a non-compromising life to their children. For this, they (often) have two jobs to do when the economic recession is at its peak. According to Zhang and Anderson, (2010) the economic conditions bring them under stress very quickly. Inflation rate fluctuates and is constantly towards the increasing trend. The mothers really have to be on their own to fulfil the needs of kids.
