Abstract

According to the researchers and professionals that have been working in the field of psychology, the extent to which incarcerated youth is overrepresented in institutions of juvenile corrections as youth offenders; these are the individuals which are going through the hardest stage of their mental and behavioral conditions or suffering from some disorders and ailments which need ultimate considerations. As an exemplary research, this study aims at identifying social and statistical significance of poverty, mental health issues and race for youth offenders. More and more organizations are becoming aware of such needs and additional confirmations for the cause of betterment and improvisations. In this paper, we try to focus on the Social and statistical significance of poverty, mental health issues, and race for youth offenders. Introduction

It is conventional wisdom and understanding that the crime-prone societies are most likely characterized by the outcomes and effects of economic stress, disadvantage and other mental/ health issues. Several studies and researches have confirmed this apprehension and impressions because youth offenders are often young people who have been convicted or notified for a criminal offence. For this very same reason, young offenders have been the center of attention within public and policy makers' criteria. Media is also interested about highlighting the future aspects of what young individuals are doing in terms of poor judgment or how they are being treated for that matter. The circumstances are not only influential but different as well with families and their backgrounds.

Background
