Introduction

At the end of the second millennium came the communication system, the largest, the planet has ever known. This is the Internet network that carries masses of information to the users worldwide. Internet gives people more freedom of speech, writing and speaking that they never had before. This feature, which seems wonderful at first, but at the backhand, the controversial material of a sexual nature, racist and sexist, among others, is also available on the Internet with relative ease. With the proliferation of websites and Internet users (network users), a debate arose about the possibility of censoring certain content available on the Internet. This aspect of the Internet is particularly interesting because it is a subject which information professionals have to consider in the very near future. Thus, Internet is just one more step where you have to decide what is and must remain accessible to users. On the other hand, the future of the Internet and its evolution will certainly be influenced by decisions made for or against some form of censorship.

Thesis Statement

The main theme of the paper is to provide an argument for the internet should not be censored by the government. It is the right for every citizen to have full access of internet. This point will be argued in the discussion section with some specific examples.

Discussion Analysis

Many people condemn the free movement of certain content on the Internet but few believe that censorship would be the right solution. They must know that no Internet user may end up by chance, without voluntary, before an image or a conversation indecent, obscene or hateful. It is important not to promote the idea that the only use of the Internet is to circulate a large amount of controversial material. No one is forced to watch or read this material, but there are still cases where censorship might be possible.

There are many reasons for the internet should not be censored. For example if the internet is not censored than it provides children to learn things that are not aware to them. They can read about the latest diseases that are causing cancer. It is good to educate children before rather than keeping them in dark as it will help them to take precautions for that particular disease.

Second example is that the Internet can be a breeding ground for questionable people seeking to enter into contact with children. Again, pedophiles and other psychopaths can use the mail or telephone to approach our children did not contemplate the removal of these forms of communication. If you educate the children not to give personal information to a stranger on the phone or in person, the same reasoning applies to the Internet.
