Abstract

In this study we try to explore the concept of “Abortions” in a holistic context. The main focus of the research is on “abortions” and its relation with “rape or incest”. The research analyzes many aspects of “abortions being legal” and tries to gauge its effect through “rape or incest”. Finally the research describes various factors which are responsible for “abortions be legal ion cases of rape or incest”.

Introduction

Victim of horribly violent or morally reprehensible crime of rape or incest can lead to pregnancy of women. The cases of pregnancy among women due to rape or incest are being very rare, but pregnancy might occur due to these facts of rape or incest. Abortions are considered as best practice to safeguard the mental health of a woman who becomes pregnant due to rape or incest. Grave injustice is resulted because of pregnancy among women through rape or incest; it is not obliged for the victim to carry the fetus to viability. This leads women to mental anguish of nine months by thinking over the violence committed against her as a result of rape or incest. There is no doubt that value of mental health of a woman is more than that of a fetus. Against woman's mental personal life, integrity and health, fetus is an aggressor. Aggressor can be repelled by defending personal and human values for the cases of abortions due to rape or incest.

Abortion

Abortion is any activity or a real life event which is always very traumatic and stressful. It is the reason for the ramification of women life. We are discussing abortion especially in the cases of pregnancy due to rape or incest. Abortion cannot truly console the women, however, this will lead to decrease her mental stress up to some extent.

Most women found abortions as a degrading and brutal form of medical rape. The women who have suffered from the sexual assault are likely to experience distress after and during the abortion. Guilt, lowered self esteem and resentment of man are the common factors often cited among a woman after the rape or incest. Abortion adds to it the further distress.

The abortion that should be legal due to pregnancy from incest is very stronger. Incest victims are rarely agreed on abortion. They are in a hope of developing a true loving relationship by bearing a child after pregnancy. This has been certainly different from that situation of rape where woman has been trapped. However, in such cases, it falls at the end of woman self esteem to bear pregnancy for the birth of child or to make abortion on demand.
