The Impact of Nursing Shortage upon the Health Care Industry

You are invited to participate in a research project being conducted by a student researcher from Western Governors University. The student, Beena Kureekottil, is conducting research to determine the most effective ways to fill the shortage of nursing in order to deal with the effects on health industry. The paper takes an evaluator approach that assesses the shortage of nursing staff upon the healthcare practices and the counter effects of such a phenomenon upon the healthcare industry.

Project Description

This study will analyze the effect of nursing shortage on healthcare industry. Since nursing shortage is one of the most serious and threatening scenarios faced by the healthcare industry in present day, the problem leads to colossal decrease in the quality and accuracy pertaining to the healthcare of the patient. The study will be conducted in one hospital in the town. The participants comprise of healthcare experts, as well as, the nursing staff. In this study, the participants will work in full dedication. The study involves interviewing technique for the collection and analysis of the data, in order to gain the objectives of the study.

Benefits and Risks of this study

The study intends to provide detailed information about the causes behind the shortage of nursing in healthcare industry. This research will be able to determine the appropriate solutions in order to deal with the causes behind the shortage.

Confidentiality

The study will follow the ethical guidelines and participation in the study will be entirely voluntary. A consent form will be sent to each participant through email and the researcher will assure confidentiality and anonymity by providing a code to each participant, which will be used instead of the name.

Voluntary Participation and Withdrawal

In this study, the participants will be asked to take part on voluntary basis. Each of the participants will sign an informed consent for their participation. In case, any participant wishes to withdraw from the study, his/her data will be removed and a new participant will be interviewed. Participants may withdraw anytime during the research.
