Introduction

Internet is emerging as a vital element to most of the organizations. But, inappropriate usages of the computer networking and communication systems of an organization may be a reason of inviting malware attacking, and leading to the organizational issues such as copyright infringement, antitrust violations, securities-law violations, trade loss, and work discriminations. Thus, it is highly essential to have policies and principles to use those policies within the organization that could enforce on appropriate usage of internet as well as of its effective implementation. (Cannings et al., 1997).

The case discussed in this paper is of a firm which recently hired 14 new employees. After some days, the company identified that the use of internet by the employees was becoming a major issue for the company. The employees were downloading the software as per their will which was resulting in the malfunction of the computers. The IT person's workload had increased due to spending a lot of time in solving these problems. As an account manager, the main purpose of this paper is to develop a short report to the boss, describing the internet policies in workplace which can be implemented to solve this problem.

Policies for Internet Usage in an Organization

First of all, we will go through with some of the designed and recommended policies for the internet usage within the workplace:

Access to the Internet is provided to a limited number of employees in order to perform their official duties requiring direct connection to external information resources.

The employees are allowed to use commercial software that is included in the Register of permitted domain to use the software and a PC.

Operation to provide access of workers to the Internet and control of its use are carried out directly (with the participation of) by the administrators of IP (Adams, 2002).

Access to the employee of the Internet can be initiated by the Head of structural unit in the following cases:

the need to organize workstations for new employees;

the need to implement new employee (other) duties that require access to external resources.

5. The process of granting access to an employee of the Internet consists of the following steps:

Filing an application in the approved form to the employee of the Internet connection by the structural unit Head in the name of the Head of Organization.

Prepared application should be approved by the Head of IT, for the purpose of obtaining the opinion of the technical workstation connectivity of employee to the Internet.

In the case of coordination with the original, proposal is sent to the IT department to make adjustments to the central node of the network access of the Internet.

Connecting (ARM) i.e. Application Response Measurement, which is performed by on-the-site employees through assistances of specialists of the IT department (Adams, 2002).

6. AWPs are used to process sensitive information which cannot be connected to the Internet.

7. When using the Internet, you must:

Comply with the requirements of this Regulation.
