The implementation of Skype will bring multiple business benefits to the company in terms of cost reduction, efficiency in performance, active customer management and significant improve in communication with partners. The Skype has some security concerns as security breach and information theft has also been a great concern of many businesses. It would not be wrong to say that Darcy's has concerns about its information security as the company cannot afford any security breach. However, the latest version of Skype and concrete IT policies will protect the privacy and data of the company and its employees.

Introduction

The role of technology cannot be avoided from the success of any business as implementation of information technology has brought many benefits to businesses. The emergence of internet technologies has now changed the way business is conducted in modern time (Godinez et al., 2010). It would be fair to say that internet communication technologies has opened new doors of opportunities for business and allows companies to maintain effective communication with suppliers, buyers, customers and community through various communications tools (Baltzan, 2012). Today businesses do not need to write letters or contact by phone as it has become too expensive. No doubt, communication technologies allow businesses to choose the method of communication that is most suitable for their organization and financial opportunities (Laudon, 2011). One of the most popular services to communicate through the Internet is Skype. The use of Skype has also received a widespread attention from many small, medium and large businesses. In fact, Skype has helped businesses to enhance their communication making it more effective than traditional emailing (Gough, 2005).

Problem Statement

Currently, Darcy's is facing a growing challenge from the competitive market due to arrival of new entrants in the market. This situation has affected the business in terms of increasing current cost, supplier power and production cycle.
