The Present and the Future Problems with Humans Desire for Speed

Speed has always captured the imagination of human beings from the earliest of times. Doing things faster has given man pleasure and an experience they cherish (Berkman & Shumway, 2003). Being ahead of others is a desire of people and to experience the feeling they try to be ahead of others in any work. Working and travelling faster has been the desire of humans. New inventions have helped to accomplish tasks more efficiently and effectively compared to several years ago. This desire is now a legitimate need because people are now required or forced to accomplish tasks faster. Therefore, speed is now an important aspect of daily life and humans cannot afford to slow down.

Understanding of the Ruling Class' Power

Karl Marx view of human nature is that the ruling classes are always ahead of the others and have a control over the production of goods. They are the ones who determine the nature of the business and control the output due to their influential power. Usually, the requirements of the entire population is controlled by these people and at the same time, they enjoy the benefits of everyone. The use of technology has always benefited the working class in several ways. The most prominent is media. With the help of media, influential people in the ruling class are able to gather the attention of the masses through TV.

Spectacle and Commodification

According to Debord, spectacle means mass communication. Since the 1920's mass marketing has increased its coverage largely (Johannesen, 2002). This type of communication strategy is meant for everyone; therefore, the communication strategy should be devised so that everyone can interpret it.
