CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION
Sexual trafficking has been a global phenomenon for quite a long time. The sexual trafficking in Africa has been under the subject for various empirical and academic injuries. The research study regarding the sexual trafficking in Africa has led to provide future opportunities for the research efforts in this field and the outcomes from these studies has guided in defining more detail regarding the landscape of sexual trafficking at present time, however it is unfortunate that this appears for be insufficient for the long history and prevalence for the sexual trafficking in Africa and around the world (Barr & Noren, 2011).
For the policy development, more further research on the nature, economics of trafficking and magnitude. The number of trafficking victims continues to increase as well as its complexity. Traffickers are using more ways for carrying on their businesses which cannot be identified through older approaches.
Purpose of the study
It is a fact that sexual trafficking has become a modern day form of slavery. Thus, the victims for sexual trafficking are increasing daily and around 12 million people trafficked each year and the reality is that government is not giving much effort in order to stop this is what has actually become the biggest slavery of 21st century. It leads to affect all types of people in the society, children, men and women. Various victims are Africans, and they continue to be trafficked to other continents in the name of the job opportunities (Zhang, 2011). This study will highlight the issue prevailing in Africa; we will identify the framework that is important for fighting up the challenge and the role that is being played by United Nation involvement in stopping the sexual trafficking in Africa. The purpose of will surely depend on the prevalence of domestic sex trafficking in Africa.
