Introduction

The main purpose of this paper is to make an analysis on the statement that is it possible to change the sexual orientation, o0r sexual orientation is set for the life. There have been many research conducted on this topic. Different researchers have made analysis on the issue about the sexual orientation and changes in the sexual orientation. The main sexual orientation which has the common tendency to be changed is the heterosexuality. This is the most dominant sexual orientation which could be changed within the lifespan (Chivers, 2004, p. 744). The variability of sexual orientation is more common in men than in women. The rate of flexibility in sexual orientation is more common in the non-heterosexual women. The consistency of changing is very low in the bisexual people than any other sexual identity. However, different studies have been conducted in order to understand different sexual patterns and the noticed changes in these patterns. The researchers have conducted researches on it by including the data of men and women, sexual minorities and heterosexuals.

Discussion

Sexual feelings are the most natural essential of a person's life. As a person reaches to the adolescence and adulthood from the childhood, there comes development and changes in the sexual feelings. The sexual orientation of a person changes in the adolescence life because of the different hormonal and physical changes that occur in a human body during puberty. There is a great effect of these changes on the human mind and body. This arises curiosity among the teenagers, and it is very common for them to ask the different questions regarding the new and changing sexual feelings which they are experiencing (Dickson, 2003, p. 1607). It is very common for different people that they take proper time to enhance understanding about the changing sexual feelings in them and get knowledge about their transformation. This understanding includes the attractions and the sexual feelings of a specific person.

The meaning of the term sexual orientation is that towards which gender a person is getting attraction. The sexual orientation is mainly classified into three basic types:

1) Straight: They are also called the heterosexual people. This kind of people gets their physical and mental attraction towards the members belonging to the opposite gender. This means that a heterosexual man gets attraction towards a woman and a heterosexual woman gets attracted towards a man. These heterosexuals are in general termed as “straight”.

2) Homosexual: The homosexual people are those who physically and mentally get attracted towards the member of their same gender. This means that a homosexual man is attracted towards a man, and a homosexual woman is attracted towards a woman. The homosexual men are termed as gays, and homosexual woman are termed as lesbians.

3) Bisexual: These are those people who get physically and mentally attracted towards both types of sexes. This means that a bisexual man can be attracted towards both man and woman, and same is the case with the bisexual woman (Diamond, 2008, ...
