Social harassment at work in US

This article explains the phenomena of sexual harassment and other violent actions at work place in US. This article has studied the factors of sexual harassment at work place among both men and women. It has examined that mostly women become the victim of sexual harassment at work in some context, men are also affected by sexual harassment but their ratio is low as compared to women. This article explains two most important factors which give rise to sexual harassment at work place. First is called as power differential factor; it describes the gender power at work. Some people think that they have more power and authority in the organization so they can harass anyone. Men mostly perpetrated these actions to female's employees at work. The second factor includes daily routine activities of a work place. Employees with more sexuality factors attract opposite genders by using inappropriate gestures and postures with results in sexual harassment. Due to this, perpetrators make a perception that the next person can give me sexual benefit. Perpetrators take it as a great opportunity for harassment and use immoral behavior (Das, 2009).
