Introduction

Sex Education has been a prominent part and parcel of educational institutions currently existing around the world. The discipline itself has had grave reputation in order for individuals to understand and identify their basic purpose of existence.

LB 192 in Nebraska Legislature relates to the introduction of sex education in the public schools to create awareness amongst the individuals and enable them at maintaining better lifestyles. On Jan 7th, the bill was introduced but it has met criticism from various groups reasoning that this would increase sex amongst teens and would lead to more problems. Discussion

Sex education to the teens should be considered as it is liability of every teacher and the parents of the child. For the betterment of the children, it is necessary to provide correct information by parents, friends, or teachers than from books, magazines, pornographic websites, and various other sources. This leads to misconception and does more harm than good. Right information can enlighten a teenager regarding the hazards of sexual intercourse and related health problems (Claire 2010, 25-68). Everyone should make his or her child aware of the fact that otherwise it would be late. After all, it is good to be safe than sorry.

The sex education is one component of education for the development of personality and participating in education of the citizen. It is a constitutive process of educational policy, promotion of health, prevention of STIs, sexual violence, unwanted pregnancies, discrimination, protection of Children and Equality rights.
