Introduction
Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) is a kind of viral disease. In November 2002, China reported the first case of SARS. The disease began in the province of China “Guandong.” The virus causing this disease is novel identified virus “SARS-CoV,” a coronavirus. The virus transmits from wild animals like palm civet to the people. There was also a report regarding the human to human transference of the disease since the July 2003. Furthermore, there are few cases existed that indicate the emergence of infection in the workers of lab.
Significance of the Disease in the Area of Public Health
The severe illness of the disease is continuously reminding the requirement of vigilance for the emerging challenges regarding public health. In the global scenario, more than fifty cases have been reported. Moreover, the half of these people has died. All the cases have an indirect or direct link with the countries of Asia. The incidence of the severe acute respiratory syndrome in the worldwide has illustrated the potential and rapid spread of the disease. Along with this, it also demonstrates the important consequences of the public health in the regions of the world introducing the cases of severe and acute contagious diseases from overseas.

The SARS disease originated from the province of the republic of china “Guangdong,” and caused the serious infectious respiratory disease in the human populace. It was reported in November, 2002. The disease was crucial that cause the ultimate and rapid death of the person. The epidemic resulted the almost 9000 cases of the SARS in twenty-six countries. Out of these, 774 deaths made the 9.6 % of the mortality rate (Peiris et al, 2004). The intense effort at the international level broke the chain of this disease spread.
