Sepsis

Sepsis is a severe disease. In this body responses to the germs and other bacteria very severely. In Sepsis bloodstream is besieged by the bacteria. Definition of Sepsis and Septicaemia disease both are similar with the concept of systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS). It is basically an infection cause from the bacteria. These bacteria can be originated in many parts of the body like intestines, lungs, skin or urinary track, which makes poisons. Body's organs and tissues attack by the immune system because of this poison. Person's body temperature, blood pressure and heart rate is changed because of these toxins and bacteria, with sepsis. It can result in dysfunction of the organs of the body. The sepsis syndrome has also called before the Septicaemia. Sepsis is too scary because it can go towards the severe problems, which affects the lungs, kidneys, hearing and brain. It can affect the people of any age and can also leads to the death. It is mostly common in infants who are under the age of 3 months because they have undeveloped immune system to fight with the overwhelming infectivity. It is also common in elders, people having chronic medical situation and in those people having immune system are negotiated from the HIV conditions. If infants are found having temperature of 100.4°F of 38°C, irritation, seems lethargic, having breathing difficulty, and seems uninterested in eating, then they should immediately bring to the doctor. Symptoms of sepsis in the older kids are irritability, fever, lethargy and breathing difficulty (Pereira, Et.al, 2011, Pp. 412).

Sepsis is very dangerous and life threatening condition of the medical. Patients having disease of sepsis are called septic. The criteria of the sepsis had been proposed by numerous medical societies and its continuously modifying by the different groups of the medical. The other terms used for the sepsis are Blood poisoning, Septicaemia, and Bacteremia. Though, Bacteremia is the existence of the bacteria in the blood. There are many definitions for septicaemia like it can be defined as the blood poisoning, Bacteremia, sepsis, Bacteremia leading to sepsis, and other difference. It often comes into view in the medical literatures. Poisoning of blood happens due to the existence of the toxic agent in the blood.

Patients of sepsis are usually admitted in (ICU) intensive care unit in the hospitals. Usually, antibiotics are given by a vein. Large amount of fluids and oxygen are also given by a vein. Medications that increase blood pressure, breathing machine for failure of lungs and dialysis for kidney failure are some other treatments for the sepsis.

The patient suffering from severe sepsis should be admitted in the hospital right away. It should also be made sure that the disease is rightly diagnosed so that the right treatment can be undertaken by the doctor.
