Sensation and Perception

Introduction

Sensation is the process by which the information is brought from the external environment into brain and body. This process is passive in a way that humans do not have to engage themselves consciously in sensing the process. Perception is the active process for selection, organization and interpretation of the information that is brought by senses to the brain (Wolfe, 2006). It is generally accepted that the sensation precedes perception. This is a simple functional difference, in the process collecting sensitive-sense-stimulus. In this paper we will analyze four different articles on “Sensation and perception” that have been published in New York Times and Scientific American. This paper will provide the summary of those articles and the details of the topic that have been discussed in the articles.
