Summary of the Seminar

This paper intends to summarize the seminar of Dr. Art Christmas who motivates students to learn about the book of Ephesians and greatly outlines essential information that the reader must be aware with. Dr. Art Christmas starts his seminar by considering this book as “The queen of epistles” in the New Testament. He mentions that this is the study of beliefs as the W.O Carver said “greatest piece of writing in the history”. The speaker said that it contains only 6 chapters in which God plan to change this world. The introduction of this book can thoroughly boost the audience interest in knowing about the facts of this book. It can be said that this is the condensed part of the bible. Moreover, the speaker also presents the sayings of Samuel Taylor Coleridge, the great English Poet who says Ephesians is the divinest composition of man. He praised this statement and considered as a marvelous piece of writing based on six chapters. Throughout the seminar, he praised this book and considered it as a “glory of Christian movement and Christian church”. The speaker clarifies it that this book is about the Christian movement and brings people for praying God and Jesus Christ. Moreover, he considers this book as a secret of New Testament or a message of gospel in which god plans to change the world for the divine revelation not to the human wish. Ephesians focuses on the Christian way to salvation and having a faith in Jesus Christ. The speaker also introduced the concept of righteous faith and obedience of righteousness as the God order.

The experiential nature of the book that we shall not simply read the book but we must experience God, the Gospel, Jesus Christ in our life than we can understand the essence of the book.

The ethical emphasis over the whole Christian life

The exaltation of Jesus Christ and explained that Jesus is 3 to 4 times exalted in the first 3 verses of the book. The speaker says that Jesus is a simple character in the bible that has his own dignity and power.

The church is a key concept.

God has a plan by which he directs history. The speaker mentions that history is not just a bunch of reason, but god is working out of his purpose. Focusing on that the whole testament is a God working on history. God has a proper plan and purpose of everything.

The principles for an ideal social order. Here, the speaker said grounds his understanding over the family life, how we build a community, then church, nation and the entire world.
