Introduction

This study has been conducted as the self learning project which intends to reflect the overall knowledge which I acquired throughout the course session. The study has formulated the questions pertinent to marketing and how renowned companies use the advertisement as an effective tool to promote their brands which may even have some negative impacts on its continuous consumption. Therefore, I have selected to cover the health concerns as I am always conscious about health issues come up with the inappropriate eating habits. However, I have tried to keep the balance throughout my report in order to establish the link among what I do, my background, and why I am interested in analyzing those questions.

I actually work as the sales representative for the Cadbury Chocolate Company in United Kingdom. The Cadbury comes amongst the top chocolate brands throughout the world. However, I am concerned about the prevailing obesity rate in the entire globe especially in the UK where a significant increase in the obesity rate has been observed since the past several years due to the increase in the consumption of unhealthy eating habits specially chocolates. I am dedicated and loyal with the company but still this dilemma shakes me whenever I see over weighted people having numerous of others health concerns.

Study Questions

Why chocolates are being promoted in spite of the fact that there are thousands of health risks associated with the consumption of chocolate?

Why companies like Cadbury are engaged in aggressive marketing regardless of considering the escalating rate of obesity amongst children and adults in United Kingdom?

We live in the contemporary world but still lack the basic awareness of our health concerns where we easily believe whatever the companies are advertizing are not harmful to our health.

Individual Background

I have always been conscious about my personal health and diet which has developed a sense of having proper diet to live a healthy diet. While being the student of marketing has also increased my observation and awareness pertinent to marketing techniques companies are using to promote their brands. Furthermore, the association with the renowned chocolate company has facilitated me in understanding the alluring and captive techniques of renowned companies to seize the attentions of customers into their traps.
