Introduction

This paper is related to the movie Angels and Demons. The paper includes the detailed commentary on the personality of the villain priest in the movie. The movie was a re-team by the director Ron Howard. It was basically a sequel of the adaptation of Dan Brown's novel the Vinci Code. The movie starred Tom Hanks and was an international blockbuster. The book Angels and Demons was written before the novel The Vinci Code, but the movie represents the after events of The Da Vinci Code (patheos.com) (Angels and Demons, 2013).

It was a huge selling novel, a thriller by Dan Brown. The novel comprises of many literary and stylistic elements along with its sequel which includes the Catholic Church, a single-day time frame and conspiracies of secret societies. Throughout the book there are heavy references of ancient architecture, symbolism and ancient history. The movie Angels and Demons was released in 2009 (Angels and Demons, 2013).

Discussion

There has been a role of villainous priest in the movie which was important and impactful. The character was named Leonardo Vetra. He was a priest and a scientist who worked at CERN. CERN is a Eurpoean Organziation for Nuclear Research situated in Geneva, Switzerland. He is the adoptive father of Vittoria. Currently, this priest is conducting research on antimatter where he is murdered by the Assassin. Often Leonardo used to visit the orphanage of Vittoria. The obsession of Leonardo was Galileo and his work. His aim to join CERN was to merge the works of science and religion. Vittoria was adopted by Leonardo when he got job request from CERN and then they both moved in Geneva, Switzerland (news.moviefone.com) (Hutchison-Jones, 2013).
