Question 1 Whether your school is conventional, congenial, or collegiayl? I feel that my school is all three depending on which administrator you are working with.
Conventional school models are those, which have a mentality that they are for individual contentment. Within such a school model, teachers prefer keeping to themselves and hardly ever want assistance from others. Their notions of functioning jointly for the school's betterment are not their objective. In addition, the teachers working within this school model appear to have groups that would be the grounds for dissension amongst different teachers and fail in communicating effectually. Schools that are congenial are those where the working environment is good in a sense that people have fun working, all the people go along with one another and the school is believed to have an atmosphere of a party or highly casual environment. My school is not of this type. No one will like to work in such a school where all things are considered not to be important and where it appears that nothing goes wrong. The model of school, which is considered to fit the best, is the collegial one (Kline & Saunders, 1998).
Collegial schools, as per the view of Glickman, are differentiated through adult-level, purposeful interactions that are spotlighted on the students' learning and teaching. People within such schools do not essentially mingle with each other; however, the opinion differences of everyone regarding education are respected (Garvin, 1993). Communal professional respect emerges from the certainty that all have the interest of the students in their minds.
Question 2 What type of supervisory climate exists on your campus? This depend on if you are well like this year. If the administrators does not have a problem with you then it leadership where they teach and guided everyone but allowing you to make mistakes or create a better plan. But if you are on the bad side then it is supervisor where they are looking over your shoulder and watching everything that you do. They make it very hard to work with them.
There exist a number of dissimilar school types, which enclose various supervision and leadership styles. The schools are dissimilar from each other due to their academic performance level, demographics and economic status. As explained by the Interactive Local Report Card (2010), “The school is one that has a population rate of 99% African Americans, at-risk students, and low academic performance”. As per the views of Glickman, et.al, Inequity for ethnic/racial and low-income students and even those that are at risk situations could be an issue in the schools o conventional model, which comprise of a diverse body of students (Kline & Saunders, 1998). The model that fits best, when looking at each model, is the school of collegial model.
