ABSTRACT

The latest advancement in technology has opened new avenues for making life safer and easier. The ubiquity of broadband connectivity has led to innovation in the housing industry known as residential gateways or smart homes. The technology is installed in the homes to automate the entire living experience, from the rest rooms to the security of the homes, everything is connected to a system making life easier, especially for the aged and physically challenged. The term 'smart-house' is utilised for a house equipped with technological advancement that endows supervising of its inhabitants &/or boosts self-reliance. The paper aims to answer if technological discovery make smart-homes safer? It also presents an architectural design for a protected intelligent home. The study scheme utilised is qualitative. In this paper, a generic purposeful concept for a Smart-homes Gateway covering the configuration & the transport stage has been proposed. Also what positive changes are brought in the lifestyle of the consumers as well as what factors can benefit from the security equipment in smart-homes is also discussed

What is House Gateway? House entrance, furthermore called as Smart-homes entrance is characterised as an smart mesh interface apparatus established at the customer/user premises. It presents the entails for Smart-homes client to get access to the Internet services consigned to home & furthermore to get access to the diverse services suggested through the diverse intelligent apparatus established inside house. Essentially the home entrance apparatus presents the essential connectivity characteristics to endow the customer/user to exploit the benefits of a networked house. In mechanical periods, a house- entrance apparatus does the bridging/routing, protocol & address transformation between external broadband mesh & the interior home networks( glimpse number 1).
