Summary

It advocates that, in order to, have a more effective input of secondary language learning, interaction between the learners should be given prior attention. Long emphasizes that learning is not a one-sided activity that calls for feeding information but rather an interactive attempt to make the learner understand. He argues that input, which is, backed by exchange of information amongst the learners lead to a much better, comprehensive and persistent learning of the lingual input (Mitchell & Myles, 2004, pp. 168-194).
