Introduction

This paper intends to discuss the various aspects of Bisphenol A (BPA). Bisphenol A is a primary component of hard plastics and is widely used in the lining of cans and polycarbonates. Recent researches suggest that BPA is toxic to both human and environmental health (Erler & Novak, 2010 Pp. 400-407). The paper will focus on the detrimental health effects associated with BPA, position of FDA regarding BPA and the need for regulation of BPA within United States.
