Public libraries contain a vast amount of credible literature; however, the rise of information technology has led to the circulation of literacy information on the internet. Out of all the sources available online, most scholars search on Google for the topic they need since it is the most convenient way to collect data. Almost every college and university student is attracted towards online sources because of the ease of use and accessibility. This has caused a lack of students using libraries. However, the internet does not have access to every book or source of information due to which the need for libraries still exist.

The importance of online resources can be judges from the fact that while searching in physical libraries can take several hours, a richer variety of information can be found from online libraries in just a few minutes.
