Introduction

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation was created by the merging of Federal Ministry of Steel and Mines and Nigerian National Oil Corporation. It is responsible for the management of the joint venture of some foreign multination corporations and the Nigerian Federal Government. The foreign companies include Agip, Royal Dutch Shell, Chevron, ExxonMobil and Texaco. From the joining of the companies the Nigerian government does production and exploration of petroleum.
