Introduction

Alexander Spesivtsev also known as Sasha Spesivtsev, a twenty seven year old man took upon himself the responsibility of eradicating the children he thought were detrimental to the society. He was convicted of killing 19 street children, whom he lured into his home, raped, tortured and killed. He later cooked and ate their meat with the help of his mother. This was the grave event which shocked the entire nation. This paper discusses the case of Sasha Spesivtsev, his former life, the murders and the investigations. The paper also discuss how today's technology could have helped in the investigation of this case.

Sasha Spesivtsev

Alexander Nikolayevich Spesivtsev was born on March, 1970. He is the serial killer of Russia whose criminal acts were accidentally revealed in 1996. He used to practice cannibalism on his young victims. Spesivtsev was a former mental patient and an unemployed black marketer. He used to lure his victims, who were homeless street children, in his apartment in the Siberian town of Novokuznetsk. When some body parts started appearing in the Aba River, the people's suspicions about a serial killer started surfacing in 1996. This river was near the school in which Spesivtsev's mother used to work. Unfortunately, the investigation was slow as the victims belonged to the underclass society and were easily forgotten after a few days.

The parents of Spesivtseva, in particular, his mother, Lyudmila Spesivtseva, lived in the city of Novokuznetsk, at Pioneer Avenue, Building 53, and Apartment 357 (news.google.com). It was in this apartment Spesivtsev subsequently committed all their crimes. In contrast to other tenants, Lyudmila liked to live isolated. She worked as a assistant warden at a school. Alexander Spesivtsev was born underweight, barely survived, and was later often sick in his life. In school, Sasha had no friends as he was unsociable by nature. He was often bullied by peers, and he dreamed of violently avenging them. Sasha was born in a violent home. He was beaten in his childhood by his father and was forced to watch as his big sister was raped by her father. The mother did not intervene, because she was afraid of being beaten. The Spesivtsevs spend their miserable existence in the city of Novokuznetsk in Siberia deep. The father left the family eventually.

Background

The murders were accidently revealed in 1996, when the neighbors were forced to call a plumber due to the breakage of a pipe. The plumbers determined that the problem was In the Spesivtsev's apartment. When no one opened the door of the apartment after several knocks, the plumbers forced the door open. The sight that awaited them shocked them, the walls were covered with blood, there were bowls of human bodies' pieces in the kitchen and a headless mutilated body in the bathtub.
